Start anticipating your Indian adventure with a short summary of what you can expect each day to bring.
This adventure begins and ends in Delhi.
Day 1: Delhi
As you arrive at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by your &Beyond India host, who will drive you to your hotel.
You will spend the next two nights in a grand deluxe ensuite room at
The Leela Palace New Delhi. The remainder of the day offers an opportunity to
unpack, settle in and relax - perhaps with an ayurvedic massage!
Day 2: Delhi
After a scrumptious breakfast, you will be taken on a rickshaw ride through Chandni Chowk, once the grandest of all the markets in India. In Chandni Chowk, you will visit the beautiful and historic Jama Masjid, India's largest mosque, built in 1656. Enjoy a delicious lunch before being driven through Delhi's former colonial splendour, passing the magnificent president's house, known as the Rashtrapati Bhavan, the World War I memorial of the India Gate and the Old Secretariat building. Visit the beautiful buildings of the Qutub Minar tower, once used as a minaret, and the World' Heritage Site of Humayun’s Tomb, India's first garden-tomb.
Day 3: Agra
Embark
on an unforgettable train journey as your &Beyond host escorts you
to the train station and helps you to seat on board the Shatabdi train
to Agra.
On arrival, you will be driven to The Oberoi Amarvilas, just metres away from the renowned Taj Mahal.
Once you have settled in, embark on a sightseeing excursion that
will take you from the delicate beauty of the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah,
also known as the Baby Taj, to the magnificent Agra Fort, once the
primary site of government for the mighty Mughal Empire. In the late
afternoon, when the light is perfect for photography, you will visit
the legendary Taj Mahal.
Day 4: Jaipur
Watch
the sunrise cast a warm pink glow over the white marble of the Taj
Mahal from your hotel room before setting off on a six-hour drive
through the Indian countryside to Jaipur. You will break your journey
for a tour of the 16th century abandoned city of Fatehpur Sikri.
On arrival in Jaipur, check into the Rambagh Palace, the former home of generations of Indian royalty.
Spend the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 5: Jaipur
In the morning visit the stunning Amber Fort, built in white marble and red sandstone, followed by lunch at Dera-Amber. In the afternoon you will explore the City Palace, residence to the maharajahs, the Observatory Tower and the distinctive Hawa Mahal, built in the 18th century to allow the ladies of the royal household to observe the goings-on in the city. In the evening, indulge in some shopping in Jaipur's bustling markets.
Day 6: Udaipur
Today you will board a flight to Udaipur, where a vehicle will be waiting to take you to your hotel.
Relax for two nights in a palace room at Taj Lake Palace,
looking out onto majestic hills, serene lakes and lofty palaces.
In the late afternoon you will enjoy a boat cruise on the blue waters of Lake Pichola, with the white marble palace at the backdrop. A magical dining moment will materialise on a marigold bedecked pontoon in the middle of the lake.
Day 7: Udaipur
This morning you will visit the architectural marvels of the Eklingji and Nagda Temples. In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a tour of the City Palace, with its fascinating combination of military architecture and decorative techniques.
Day 8: Jodhpur
Enjoy a leisurely morning before taking an afternoon flight to Jodhpur.
You will be driven to the Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the largest
residences in the world, set amidst 26 acres (10 hectares) of lush
gardens.
Day 9: Jodhpur
This morning you will be driven to Bishnoi Village, where you will experience a glimpse into rural Indian life. After a mid-day siesta, you will enjoy a private and exclusive tour of the imposing Mehrangarh fort, followed by drinks and dinner in the beautiful palace complex.
Day 10: Departure
Catch a flight back to Delhi, where your adventure with us will end.
