Touch the earth lightly
With only the green ribbon of the Banjaar River separating it from the lush jungles of Kanha National Park, from the moment you arrive at Banjaar Tola Kanha Tented Camp you are enveloped in a genuine jungle atmosphere. Situated on the forested banks of the river and with beautiful views over the rich heart of the national park, two intimate camps of just nine tents each sit lightly on the earth, specially constructed for low impact on this sensitive riverine environment.
Floating verandas
The lightness of the beautiful bamboo floors is reflected in pressed bamboo wall panels, and fabrics in delicate tones of bleached saffron, forest green and earthy cinnamon. Wide glass doors beckon onto private verandas that seem to float above the earth, offering panoramic views across the river and into the wilderness beyond. Raw timber furniture, canvas wardrobes and leather detailing extend the chic, glamorous camping feel. Clean modern lines enhance the rough edges of handcrafted furniture made from fallen trees and driftwood.
Jungle dinners
Spend leisure hours in the comfortable guest sitting area, and admire the handicrafts of nearby Chattisgarh, with bastar bell metal structures and tribal metal work. The refreshing cool waters of the lodge pool invite you in for a quick dip and the interpretive library provides hours of quiet revelation. Enjoy mouthwatering dinners infused with the fragrant spices of India on large dining decks with dramatic river views or on the shady pool deck, or indulge in lantern-lit jungle dinners in the sal forest.
