Capture the soul of a colourful and romantic age at The Brunton Boatyard, set on a quiet harbour deep in the heart of historic Kochi. The world of 19th century Kochi has been painstakingly recreated using the authentic building materials of the time - brick, lime, wood and terracotta. A small and intimate city hotel, The Boatyard's lobby is filled with sunlight and air, framed by majestic arches and decorated with enormous old fashioned fans. Reminders of its nautical past abound, from old Dutch maps to shipmen's tools and even an ancient anchor. Each of the hotels rooms gazes out to sea and even the deep bathtubs offers ocean views. A quaint four poster bed dominates each room.
The ancient cuisines of the Malabar Coast are given a new lease on life in the History Restaurant, while old Portuguese breastplates and musketry decorate the Armory Bar. Outside, a sparkling swimming pool gazes onto the open vista of Kochi harbour. Near the pool is the hotel's jetty, from where a vast selection of cruises depart.
