Situated high above the banks of the sacred Narmada River and once the capital of India's celebrated woman ruler Ahilya Bai Holkar, the fort retains the feeling of its epoch while bringing guests all the modern conveniences. Lunch is in the cool covered courtyard and dinner takes place in the garden, by the pool or on the terrace.
